Vivid Dreams....

Post by CitroJim » Thu Mar 28, 2013 6:55 pm

Had a funny one yesterday at work. I had a PC that I didn't know the password for but needed desperately to log into it. I built it a couple of years ago so I would have set the admin password but despite trying all my usual suspects nothing worked.

Last night I had a dream about that PC and dreamed I successfully logged into it. I dreamed it vividly enough (as I do) to see the password used...

This morning I went to work tried the password I used in the dream and it worked..

Anyone else ever experienced similar?

Paul, it is... It's not nice...

I should have said, it's not unusual for me to dream a solution to a problem. Many times I have but normally it's solutions to car problems although many work problems have been solved like that too...

Highly vivid dreams are actually a serious problem for me. They happen many times a night, every night. I have excessive REM sleep and little really good deep sleep with frequent awakenings. It's all part and parcel of the ME and there's no cure for it. Something I have to live with but as you can see, it does have its useful side on occasions...

If I go top bed stressed or worried about something they tend to be horrible...

There's a big world out there, sub consciousness...Try and avoid stress and drive a car that never needs a worry :)
Glad to say I sleep like a log and try to worry less and less.....but being somewhat psychic can be making a person very nervous.

I often do my best thinking overnight. Your brain just worked through the sequence until it found the correct PC and you then knew the password.

Handy, but it seems you have alot of stuff locked in your brain that can only be accessed when your in a certain brain state?.....Good result this time though :)

The problem I have is my brain just seems to not absorb some things at all, and others are so distant i cant recall them. (years of burn out caused this)

My historical bad dreams stemmed from anxiety. Linda helped me realise this as she is a counsellor and so clever with stuff like this.

Vivid bad dreams are apparently your body's way of comunicating to you that something isnt balanced within. I can imagine youve gone through quite alot of stress and anxiety recently? Perhaps speak to your GP about howe your brain is reacting? They can help you with things like this ;)

In the meantime, its the x rally this weekend and hopefully the sun will be out...happy days :)

No cure?

Have you discussed counselling with your doc Jim? Linda deals with alot of things like this. Dreams as you have stated are linked to anxieties.....these often can be controlled through a variety of coping mechanisms that you can be shown and adopt.

Ive had a bit of stuff done myself including professional hypnotherapy for anxieties.....its powerful stuff that really worked ;)

Sadly not Vince. It comes as a non-optional extra with my ME and it's a case of live with it. Poor and broken sleep with vivid dreams is almost a cardinal symptom of the condition...

It has its advantages. I have absolutely no need of an alarm clock!

I've already had some absolutely wonderful counseling to come to terms with it in general and that really did me a lot of god and still does so...

I have no anxieties at all nowadays except around MOT time
