If you're in your local shop then pick up the latest edition of
Classics Monthly - there's a feature comparing the CX and XM.
You may recognise one, or maybe both of the owners!
Not got it myself yet as none of the local shops have got it in...

You beat me to it

I just spotted it whilst at Tesco so picked it up....
I dont recognise the owners by face, but the xm guy is probably on here i guess

What a lovely example too.....very tidy, hope its at the rally this weekend...its famous now
Great pictures etc, and whats greater still is the xm making it into a classic car magazine
The article is ok, but clearly not written by someone who knows anything about xms....the xm write up is particularily weak....
Weak spots i noticed:
On the cx it lists - Car of the year 1975. But on the xm, no mention at all of its "european" car of the year status. 1989 wasnt it
The cx gets mentioned on body roll in corners, and the xm is cited as improved...but absolutely no mention of the hydractive system at all

the car featured is hydractive too being a uk model, but that omission sealed my suspicion that the writer was no citroeniste.
Nice to see that the magazine editor is a fan of both the xm and the cx though

What was also a nice feature was the fact that both models had a thriving enthusiast scene........the great unwashed...we have been acknowledged

I must get this. Very interesting.
Anything written about the XM in mags is always wrong. This is very poor, especially If it is a proper comparison. Typical
Vince, I think it was 1990 European car of the year.

I've yet to see the article myself, however should pick one up tomorrow.
The CX owner is infact my dad, and the XM owner is a mate Geoff - not a forum man but CCC Member and he'll be at the X Rally...
As they say, all publicity is good publicity - another of dad's CX was photographed today for another magazine feature in the near future...

Absolutely. Expect there to be greater demand for XM as a result of that article. Look what the TV series "The mentalist" did for the DS.
