Well guys, recently made it back home from the x rally...... :)

Today our very own "knights of the road" - Will (dieselman) and Jim (citrojim) saved my bacon and recovered me about 5 miles from the x rally when part of my gearshift linkage system decided to shear in half :o .....A quick trawl through my phone and a phone call later Will and Jim roll up in an identical K reg xm 2.1td and proceed to diagnose the problem and with the aid of ever trusty cable ties, Jim's "magic hands", Will's expertise of xm gearlinkages, and an improvised ramp and vehicle support, my xm is soon back on the road and i roll into the x rally...albeit a bit behind my intended arrival time :)

I know i said it before, but guys....thankyou ever so much for your help...i was in a sticky situation and you got me not only to the show, but also back home again. :D

I owe you each a favour.....which feel free to call me on whenever i may be able to help you.

Citroen folks....truly the best sort ;)

Hi Vince,

It's good to see you made it home OK and it was nice to meet up. As soon as I got back in the car I thought..."Damn, I Haven't taken any photos of Jim under the car"...

It was a pleasure to help out.

I might have been out in Jims car then, clearing the cobwebs out of the exhaust.

Wait till you drive a 24v vince...

Glad to hear you made it home safely vince. You know where i am if needed.

My 24v bug has bitten. So the SD needs finishing and the 24v resurrecting into life again.

Vince, absolutely delighted you got home safely. It was the news I was longing to hear and heard it just as I was scrubbing the last of the grease off my arms... Your car is not short of lubrication on the gear linkages Vince!!!
