Oldest car

I read frequently on ads that the car advertised is one of the last made etc but never the other end of the scale.
I know mine came off the production line in December 1989 and that XMCentral's blue one is probably a month earlier. Are there any older UK cars than this, and if so, how many are known? As cars were produced for the European market a few months beforehand how many of them are left and what is the oldest?
I realise this isn't an exact science but I would like to know how many of the early cars are around.

I suspect your two were the first batch ordered by Citroen UK. The car didn't go on sale here until 1990 and both yours have aftermarket sunroofs fitted, presumably by Citroen UK.
It might be worth making an enquiry to Citroen UK, they should have that information, if not ask DVLA.
Only 3 licensed and 5 SORN 1989 cars showing for the UK as of end of 2012. Wasn't Robert Smarts 2.0si the 3rd one?

I HAD a G plate si in Maroon with an aftermarket sunroof that was bought to break but that was about 7 years back at least, i cant imagine there are just a handfull of pre 91 cars about today to be honest.

G plate cars are nearly always 1990 cars, the very early ones are 1989 cars, hence this thread.

I know no more. Dont know RP numbers ect. The owner has a J and a K plate cars too. All in a sorry state i'm afraid and all on sorn by the looks of them. Along with a DS Pallas and a 304 convertible in the garage. We both think there is something else in there too!
It isn't literally in a forest Jaap, although there is plenty of forest in the first of Dean. The Forest of Dean is like a "district"? ...not right but anyway....north of Gloucester. The cars were in Coleford, hidden down a little road in a cluster of houses. They crop up in all sorts of funny areas....XM's not houses!
We should both go and just knock on his door and have a chat!

As the DVLA site says there are 3 taxed and 5 sorned but how many of the above are there, what state are they in, and do any of them have a chance of seeing the road again?
It's just a question that keeps nipping at me to know what is the oldest around.

My suspicion is that most, if not all the SORN cars will never see the road again, unless we buy them.
These are not summer garage queen cars SORN for the winter, the numbers of SORN cars is going down as fast as the number of Taxed ones.
