Bah, it was easy to stop mine last night after blowing yet another Michelin energy saver....Glad I didn't hit a tree though :) Hydraulic suspensions should be on all cars for safety reasons alone. Got a nice picture to show you people, like some one shot my tyre! :) We all should write to the EU and demand that new safety legislation!! :)
Will post the pic later...But I hate to go to order yet another tyre. I am working very hard just to buy new tyres it seems, getting very tired....working away just for a......
Also got the call that I now have a leaking sunroof on the other old French heap of.....

 Yikes, some nasty crashes there. That silver estate I recognise......you were lucky there Robert.
The mangled one with the fire service and the one driven under a truck send shivers.

Oh dear Jaap. Not another....you need run flats!
So you and me then due to sort out our sunroofs. I have a hunch the recent heatwave has blown the mastic seal on mine, hence why I am suddenly getting water ingress. :( Still it will be sorted out. Have a look at Wills thread...very good.

Mine's lovely and dry...

I still hate sunroofs though. Creak, rattle, squeak, leak...and pinch headroom.

It seems Michelins are too weak for Irish roads. I suppose that was what happened to that grey one on the green emerald isle, a burst a tyre. I have blown so many now over the years and I know how it feels when a tyre bursts in rain and dark on difficult roads.

It seems like a sad day on many fronts. We could of course end our citroen affair and go German :) they have never leaking sunroofs!

I think sunroofs spoil the lines of an XM. The floating roof only looks right in a single panel, without interruption.

I don't know what your roads are like there but I always use budget tyres and very rarely get punctures and I have to drive over about half a mile of rough forest track every time I go out. Most of my tyres live out their life of about 25,000 miles without a problem.

The roads here are bad. I've used countless tires of different brands but I find the big XM needs good tires. You pay more but these Michelin Energy savers do give ultimate comfort and grip and outstanding wear. Except in my case of course :)
They also just about win a big test. Cheaper oness are harder and will last longer but will give less grip and comfort so also less safety. Firestones were reasonably priced and OK, Bridgetones I bought were more expensive but were gone very fast. Now I stick to the Michelins and Hankooks for winter tyres. I don't like Chinese etc. tyres but the Hankook winter tyre are an exception and a great to drive too.
