Im at work at the moment so cant check, does anyone happen to know the length, diameter and thread type/ pitch for the rear calliper bolts, im replacing all fixings with stainless and these were the only ones i forgot to check last night.

Thanks

Thought so, in case you were wondering they are 140mm M9 bolts with a 1.25mm thread pitch, most M9 applications seem to be for cylinder heads or big end caps, struggling to find them in stainless or as a freely available aftermarket size bolt but the search goes on.

Hi Dean, care should be taken if deciding on the use of s/s nuts & bolts. They are prone to galling and subsequent seizing so an appropriate lube or barrier should be used, ie. moly or talc. Cad plating and galvanised do not suffer this phenomena and offers equal corrosion resistance.

Noted Robert, thanks

On further investigation i believe the stock bolts are high tensile as all other M9 applications seem to be high tensile, the calliper bolts do seem to be.
My bolts are in perfect condition as i always kept them greased, there is no rust at all, replacement was purely for cosmetic reasons but i may not go ahead with this now, so far i have sourced A4 grade stainless roll pins for the rear hydraulic cylinders, 'R' clips for the same, rear brake pad retaining bolt and nuts (M5X80mm)

All under body heat shield, lower wing mounts, spare wheel carrier and subframe fittings including engine undertray have been replaced with stainless cap head A4 bolts, nyloc and 15mm washers.

The leftovers from the M5 and M6 bulk buy will be used in the engine bay for cosmetic reasons only, some extras are on order for the larger M8/M10 applications to keep everything matching.

Cost so far for all stainless fittings
5 X 3mm R clips
5 X M5X80 bolts
30 X M5X25 bolts (cap)
10 X M6X30mm bolts (cap)
10 X M6X25mm Bolts (cap)
4 X M8X40mm roll pins
30 X M5 nyloc nuts
30 X M6 nyloc nuts
30 X M5X15mm washers
30 X M6X15mm washers

= £32 delivered

Bear in mind, XM Rear calipers DO NOT seem to suffer the Leaning issue of Xantia and C5 cars due to the design of the rear arm mating face..

Im YET to see corroded rear caliper/arm faces on any yet! The Arm face does complete face against the Caliper like the Xantia/C5

This of course is not to say the bolts dont suffer thread corrosion though..
