Cassette radio

Each Time I start my ('new') XM I have to reenter the code and I forget the solution. Is there a CD radio which suits instead of the cassette? I can't open the Glove compartment, is it a different key? One of those pink lollipops has popped out of the passenger seat (SEi). My bag with all the documents was stolen so fumbling with the over complicated radio. Can it be PU 9358a? Which are the removal keys, can't find anything on Clarion site. It has A/C but the dial doesn't illuminate -thump the dash? At the moment the fuel economy gauge doesn't function -but we're still in love. Phil (Croydon)

To remove the radio poke thin screwdrivers, or similar, into the four holes, then pull.

The radio should remember the security code you enter, and will only lose it if the battery is disconnected. If you're not disconnecting the battery, it suggests that the "permanent live" feed to the radio is being disconnected every time you switch off the ignition - i.e. a wiring fault/blown fuse - or isn't connected at all*. (There are three 'power' connections to the radio: perm live, IGN live, plus ground.)
*Check this by trying to turn the radio on without switching on the IGN. If you can't, then there's probably no 'perm live' feed to it.
