Plenty of XM stuff to browse through on this French XM appreciation website (with the help of Google translate or just look at the pictures!)

I see that their boutique page offers replacement door trim strips, do these look like original materials?
According to the specs they give, the ES9 V6 uses about 10% less fuel than a 2.5 TD!

They do look like the original supply.

Anyone fancy ordering some, I would but already have a set of SS ones to fit. Technically, that means bumper trims are available as they are just regular trim heated and bent to shape.

Er not quite Will as there are little teeth on the bumper trim to engage with holes on the body! Regards, Matthew T.

Matthew is right about the bumper trim teeth.

Another point to watch with the front bumper trim is there are 3 sets of teeth position.
All UK Mk1's are the same but have slightly different teeth slot positions than the Mk2 SX's single piece trim .
Then there is the headlamp washer Mk 2 version which comes as 3 trim pieces.
Rear bumper trims are common between Mk1's and Mk 2's but you still have the one piece car type and 3 piece estate type.

I have also just measured bumper and side trim sections.
I think side trims are made from 25mm quadrant while bumper trims from 30mm quadrant material.

I found this with my silver tape. There was a little bit to trim on the side trims, but trying the bumpers the trims are slightly bit wider as you point out John. The tape fits perfectly though until the corners.

Have had a quick check on the shop.
I do not think they are offering anything other than 25mm plastic for side trims.
Simple maths shows that the front and rear sections they refer to are the short side trims on the wings in front and to the rear of the doors.
The overall length of the 4 side trims is 2.35 metres each side so 300mm wastage from 5 by 1m sections.
