I have been waiting for delivery of an XM driveshaft bought on ebay.
The sender used myHermes which provides tracking.
The tracking showed that the shaft was collected on the 12th but then no movement.
I initially assumed the tracking system was crap but when it did not come chased up at the end of last week.
myHermes refused to talk to customers and referred me to the sender which I then did.
Trader quickly found the tracking was right the shaft had reached myHermes depot but not been accepted as it was just overweight for price paid.
He paid the difference and the shaft comes today.
He was livid as he sends hundreds of items via this carrier but the worst bit was their policy on overweight parcels.
All parcels are weighed on receipt at first depot.
No notice is given to sender or addressee that the parcel is not accepted and it will be disposed of after 14 days.

I would advise to make sure that anything sent by myHermes is accurately weighed and within their size limits.
In other respects the service is very good and cheap.
If you are sent a myHermes parcel watch the tracking and follow up fast with the sender if it stalls after collection.

I find that for the 'Heavier Items' its best to use INTERPARCEL which I have an account with (So that you can also check back to whom and what you've sent via the 'History Log' ) 99% of the time I use the standard 'UPS' economy service, also for the UK mainland service it normally is within 24 hrs from pick-up to delivery the exception being if picked up on a Friday (As the van/delivery service don't work @ weekends) also their standard insurance cover is £50 against the 'Hermes' of £20 !

Inter-parcel/UPS are also doing a superb offer a 'Standard Store 2 Store' service FROM only 99p + vat !

You just need to communicate with the person to whom the parcels being sent to for the most convenient store they prefer for pick up, 'prior' to making the booking along with their mobile tel. no. to which they get a text message to when the parcels ready for pick-up, being only 99p for up to 2kg's for fairly large parcels sizes (Well much bigger the the 'Small Package' with the ROYAL-MAIL which cost £2.60 and that's for only up to 1kg. for up to 2 kg's is £5.60 (BUT will be going up next month and only with a standard £20 insurance cover) !

Also I find that the Inter-parcel/UPS 'Parcel Tracking' log is FAR superior to the 'parcels2go/Hermes' and is also Always 100% correct from my experience over very many years (Which includes items I've sent to Northern/Southern Ireland and even to Denmark too) !

Here's the example for the parcel 'Tracking log' of the item I sent out on Monday using the 'store 2store' service with 'Interparcel/UPS' !

As you can see I booked this on Saturday 22nd @ 20:24 (But it states 15:24 as the booking goes thro' to the Eastern-board in the USA where Interparcel's based [Hence 5 hrs behind]) then can seen that I actually dropped off the parcel on Monday 24th @ 14:23 and perhaps I was lucky on this occasion that the UPS van/man was in the area and got the message for pick-up, which was @ 16:46 and then finally reached the chosen 'Drop-off' store the next day, Tuesday 23rd @ 11:04 ready to be collected at the 'Recipients Convenience' !

This is a signed for service too (You can click on a tab to open/check who actually signed for it) the actual weight for the /\ example was for a 1.2 kg's parcel, all for only 99p + Vat = £1.19 BARGAIN !

P2G are doing a similar OFFER for only 75p + VAT (but limited to a max. of 10 parcels) however I note when just trying it with the /\ example it was coming out out £5.10 rather than 90p because the weight seems to be restricted to 1 kg. for the parcel sizes albeit the Actual Courier would still be 'UPS' using the same 'Store2store' drop-off/pick-up infrastructure
