Nice, good luck with it Will, what sparked this then? forum issues elsewhere?
I see our leaning boat is attracting attention, i know one of the divers currently working on her, the cars are long gone, they have some jcb products resting on them at the moment and a lot of them are also under water, keep your eyes open for soggy JLR products flooding (sorry) the salvage market shortly.

Thanks Ciaran.
I need to look at sorting the code for links opening in new tabs and adding a Thanks button.
Jim helped me get it to load a working database to run from, so thanks to him for allowing me to take his time for that.
I'll see if else I need to include in the credits...

Good luck with the new venture, Will.
All the vehicles were lashed down? Really?
Ferry only one-third full, apparently.
Sounds very much like a shifting cargo. What else would cause such a severe and uncontrollable list during a turn?

The ballast was only light and due to the turn, fuel oil shifted between the tanks.
The reason the fuel transfer valves were open is yet to be investigated.

Yes there is talk she was under ballasted,, which is computer controlled, she started the lean and the crew didn't know what was happening, the load wouldn't of been strapped but wouldnt of moved either. Cars got drowned anyway as when she was grounded she started to take on water due to the list, engine oil from the vehicles floated up to sit on top of the water that made it into the holds but the water will be pumped from under the oil film.
Cargo shift is not likely nor possible under the conditions she was sailing.
I like to see a bit of off topic action on a forum, little odd there is a rather drawn out "Mercedes is rubbish" thread.................on a Merc forum though.
Best of luck with it Will.

Must say if I ever own a German car it will probably be an E or S class Merc, I do quite like those round headlight E classes that everyone hated when they first came out.
What model is it you have Will?
