Nothing is ever easy with these cars! I'd go for the cheaper of the 2 😊

Does anyone know the difference between the two parts? i know auto and manual have different shafts and no supplier seems to state there is a difference, ive found a gen part which is what i want and its a good price but want to be sure of what the difference in the two parts are.

Thanks

The main difference as far as gaitors are concerned is the diameter of the outer shaft.
Around the beginning of 1996 Citroen changed from solid to hollow outer shafts.
Hollow and solid shafts for a particular Mk2 engine/box type are interchangable.
The problems start if you need just gaitors or joints.
For those parts the shaft diameters need to be measured and specified.
Most Citroen gaitor boxes I have specify the diameters so the seller should be able to check for you.
