Looks like it could be a bargain if it's your bag, I'd love it myself but the boss would be rather annoyed at me running off down the country to fetch another Citroen haha  can't be too many of these early ones left now, see a few later ones from around 93-94ish but this is the earliest I've seen for a good number of years and if with 2 owners and 19k on the clock would be a nice base for someone IMO. Few more photos would have helped the listing but I'm asking the seller so they may be added later.

You need a nice E or D plate. J was the last of the mk1's.

Can't be many with a genuine 19k on the clock though, even on an F plate. Can't recall seeing any really early examples even when they were current, were they limited in numbers compared to later models?

Thats a great little example...looks pretty straight too. Get the wheels refurbed and like you say, a mint little early AX.

In the same vein, I always fancied minting up an early base spec Peugeot 205 on steel wheels....I find superb condition base spec cars so much more special as its often just the higher spec cars like the GT's that get saved and minted up ;)

A man after my own heart :D I'd love a 205 Junior diesel again, had a yellow one a few years ago and it was a great little car but was written off. Fun to drive even with the normally aspirated XUD lump, in fact probably more fun due to the lack of turbo! The base models always have a special place in my heart as well as the top notch fully loaded stuff, the simple joys of no frills motoring have a lot to be said for them. Very little to go wrong and good on fuel, cheap spares and the "not seen one of them for years" factor too :) The AX could use a nearside wing and wants the bumper mountings straightened as well but looks like it'd tidy up very nicely.
