Citroen Classic Challenge

Post by MTXM » Thu Jun 11, 2015 11:06 pm

Well as some of you may know Russ and I are participating in the Challenge this year in my gold V6 and we are now on the way!! The event covers 2000 miles through central France and the Pyrenees including a glimpse of the Mediterranean coast. I set off this morning from Norfolk around 9.00am collecting Russ near Oxford at lunchtime. We had a nice evening in Portsmouth before boarding the ferry for an overnight crossing that is where we are now. The plan is to keep a blog of our exploits over the next ten days so watch this space!! Bon voyage, Matthew & Russ

Good show you 2...so you got all the V6 spare parts on top of your roof now :) And your luggage in the boot...... I trust you will have a marvelous trip and sorry I can't be anywhere around to meet up with you guys but I couldn't even vaguely keep up with that V6 in any case! Happy travelling! and dump that roofthing, it'll slow you down big time and you don't need any spare parts on that car!

The roof box spoils the lines a bit... Is it just there to keep the stickers off the paintwork?

Have fun, it is a pity that the route does not come through Burgundy.

Good luck, both. Enjoy all those French roads, where the XM should feel it's 'come home'.
Look forward to lots more photos.

Good luck! I did one of these trips in a BX back in 2009. Was great fun. We pretty much avoided autoroutes (certainly Peage) and saw some 'real' France.

A V6 petrol engine, 2000 miles and French petrol prices should make for an interesting experience.
