Late 3 litre V6. What are the chances of finding one?

I've been thinking that my current XM now has too many faults to be a realistic long-term prospect and after a while gazing at C6s but being put off by the horror stories I've been seriously considering trying to find a late 3.0 V6 XM.

The problem is that there don't seem to be any about any more. What are my realistic chances of finding a good one? Ideally in black and a manual, though I guess I can't be too fussy about that. Does anybody know where I should be looking aside from the obvious eBay, AutoTrader, Car & Classic and Citroenian adverts?

There are not very many around, and the nice ones are mostly already owned by people who appreciate them, so they don't come up for sale often.

The ES9 V6 was not built in RHD with manual transmission, it was probably an option that no-one ordered. I estimate that about 10% of LHD ES9s are manual, but most of those are SX not exclusive trim. I would have to say that other than needing a transmission overhaul sometime in its life, the 4HP20 makes a nicer car than the ML5T manual.

Uk ones are auto onlh eifoin..

I can get a W reg one in exclusive and red if you are interested but ive not personally seen it yet..

By red .. its not a fading red type colour.. like a rose red i think.. not manderin.. lighter then that.

Thanks for the quick replies. I didn't know that the late-RHDs were automatic only, but that doesn't put me off.

I hadn't seen what had happened to the silver V6 he had.

I'd buy it in that condition so I could store a load of parts for mine, just incase.

That's a shame I would of been interested in this as well, the running gear would of gone nicely into a white mk 1 shell
