Hi Chris,
Thanks for the info, found Horsham Brake Services closed down some years ago but a garage next door but one on Nightingale Road say they MIGHT be able to find the right parts so have left them to see what they can get. Our local National Tyre & Exhaust centre also thought they might be able to get the three sections and qouted either £650 or £750 depending on which supplier they use but that was two days ago and they still haven't confirmed they can get them so afraid at the moment it is looking like it might be the end of the road for old EDD.
Cheers
Peter

Ok so continuing to draw a blank on getting these exhaust parts, so far all our local dealers including the National Tyre guys can't get anything. I also spoke to Pilaedes who called back to say they can't them. Now waiting on Chevronix and Wolsey House Motors to come back although speaking to Chevronix again just now it is not looking hopefull. To top it all EDDs insurance was due for renewal on Saturday so have put that on hold pending the outcome, not looking good at the moment.

Hi Peter,

Just had a look at Mister Auto UK.
They show they have stock of both Bosal and MTS boxes for the three 2.0i engine types.

I can't believe these are proving difficult to obtain.
The centre section is the same for 2.0-16v and 2.0 turbo and the rear section is the same for 2.0-16v, 2.0 turbo, 2.1TD, 3.0-v6 and V6-24.

The various sections are available on Ebay, but if all else fails, just get one made up.

Thanks guys, do you have the specific part no's for each section because I keep getting told the rear box is now like rocking horse shit i.e virtually non existent and the various part numbers become confusing!

Are we saying my 2.0 Turbo first registered in Aug 1994 but I think it's been established was built in 1993 will take all the sections for the 16v exhaust systems? The Cat which I got on Ebay in 2015 was part number 90494 so whatever I get needs to marry up to that.

Chevronics now say they have found only one out of all their suppliers who has the rear box so from their perspective it is the last one in the country! The part number they are qouting is 1726F0 and it will cost £68.25 +VAT + shipping.

They can also get the front silencer section, part number 96119135 for £73.50 +VAT, what they are struggling to get at the moment is the transverse (middle box) section.

As a matter of interest Dieselman where can you get exhausts made up?

Hi Chris,

I think I'm making progress now thanks, have located the following Klarius parts on EBay which after checking the various OE part numbers I think should l fit up to the existing cat, just waiting for confirmation from the seller. The rear silencer number is slightly different to the one quoted by Chevronics as checking their part no on Bosal I realised that is for a Y4 hatchback although I suppose the question is does that make any difference providing all the bits fit together?

Well done in finding that.
Good idea for all the items to be same manufacturer/supplier, so there shouldn't be fit issues there.
Good few parts are common across Y3-Y4.

The Klarius parts you have found are the correct ones, according to the Klarius catalogue.

Citroen equivelants:
96119135
96119136
1726F3

Reviews say that Klarius exhausts are OK, apparently all products are type approved. The company used to be Timax exhausts.
There catalogue appears significantly more comprehensive for Xm, than other manufacturers. They show items for all series 1 3.0-v6 and 24v, for example.

If you search equivelants against the Citroen part numbers, you will see all manufacturers items for that part. Try yoyopart.com.

Thanks Guys, just spent most of the day meeting with my neighbours and a sewage treatment plant contractor discussing the ins and outs of installing one of these again fraught with various issues so be nice to get the Citroen sorted in the same day! Will let you know how it goes. :D
