Hi,
Ok new wrinkle, the seller on Ebay is hesitant to confirm the above sections are ok for my Citroen because the Klarius catalogue says they are for a Euro 2 exhaust emission spec car and mine (based on the registration number) is a Euro 1 spec car. This is first time I have come across this term, in practical terms does it make any difference?

I am not aware of any material change between 1994 (Euro1) and 1996 (Euro2) for the Xm turbo petrol.
Your car may well be Euro2 compliant anyway.

If in doubt, why not ask Klarius.

For the Citroen XM 2.0i-Turbo, Klarius only have one exhaust system listed for all versions since 04/1992 with Y3AX and Y4GG Vin numbers.
Yours should be a Y3AX.

Cat: 380228 or 322327
Resonator: CN309L
Transverse Box: CN310K
Rear Box: CN311J

The transverse and rear boxes are indeed the same as the 2.0i-16v.

Exhaust components are designed with three things in mind.
1. Fit.
2. Gas flow
3. Noise.

If it fits those three criteria, it will be fine, which is why the 2.0i-8v atmo exhaust is no good for your car.

Hi,
Ok just when I thought we were out the woods ...... I ordered all three sections from the Ebay seller on the 19th and on the 20th received notification they had been despatched with delivery expected today or tomorrow then last night they sent a message saying they cannot get the front silencer CN309L any longer from Klarius but do I want them to still despatch the other two parts!!

So now knowing that they lie through their teeth I went straight to Klarius to check this out and sure enough they have none in stock and further more they told me they are no longer manufacturing this whole system, apparently the decision to discontinue was taken on the 10/12/18. They do still have a few CN310Ks & CN311Js but once they have gone then that's it.

However, they guy I spoke to was quite helpful and when I mentioned the forum and there are still a number of XM owners still out there he did indicate that if there was a group order of say 30 systems then they would re-tool and make that but other than that you can now discount Klarius as a source for the XM exhausts.

I'm now looking into this other Ebay supplier for the front silencer made by Premium but I noticed the shape/angle of the pipe into the transverse box is different to the Klarius one so want to make sure it will marry up to their Klarius CN310K or maybe I will just try and get all three sections from these guys instead,, assuming they actually have them!!

Right these guys (Online Automotive) say they can supply the front and mid silencers but not the rear. They claim the rear one (above) is incompatible even though their listing says it is compatible when I input the car details? Citroën XM 1994 Y3 [1989-1994] Hatchback 2.0i Turbo Hatchback 1998ccm 141HP 104KW (Petrol):

They are going on the reg number so I wonder again if they are only saying this because of the Euro 1 v 2 question so now waiting for them to answer to find out and to see if the diameter of the outlet from their front silencer will fit to the inlet of the Klarius mid (54mm). All things considered if it won't then I'm getting to the point where EDD will have to be pensioned off.

Hi Guys,
Ok update on the exhaust situation. In the end I decided to go ahead and order the Klarius mid and rear sections from the Ebay seller (RTGroup11) and they have now arrived and look to be good quality parts which will fit but have had a mission finding an equivalent to the front silencer section CN309L.
After a lot of cross checking to see if the pipes will marry up I was just about to order a Euroflo part CIT3051 when I saw this new listing on Ebay, someone who still has the CN309L but they only have 3 left and I now have one of them! As they say once thev'e gone there gone.

I shouldn't speak too soon, turns out the Ebay seller above who said he had three CN309Ls actually had diddly squat so they take your money then cancels the deal because they don't have any, total pain in the proverbial so now back to looking at the Euroflo version.

That's how many of these vendors operate. Been there.
