Classic Renault spotted!

I dropped off the Poland car at my trusted local bodyshop on Monday and this was parked outside - quite a rare sighting these days! The condition of the R16 was fairly tidy and recent work had been a bonnet and scuttle respray to address minor blemishes. Regards, Matthew T.

That's lovely. I really like the grey. It's even got a little aero style spoiler on the roof above the hatch. Wether it is, I doubt, but looks cool.

I though that you in particular would like the car Russ and I agree about the colour!! I had assumed the wheels and spoiler might be aftermarket additions! With regards, Matthew T.

Wheels are factory fitted TX spec wheels...

Bear this spec in mind for the age, also should have electric front windows and central locking too on that model!!

TX spec also included the extra driving lamps next to the main lamps and the rear wiper...

Fabulous. These really are quite fantastic. It's like they looked at the DS and thought "we can do pretty much all of that, and we'll give it a hatchback too."

I was fortunate to drive a RHD R16 TX a few months ago, these are only one of two or three TXs in the UK I think. It's a good comfortable drive with no squeaks or rattles, very stable and feels well screwed together. The one I had a go in had electric windows, central locking, electric sunroof and electronically controlled automatic gearbox...not bad for 1977!
