This was flagged up on FCF...
http://www.citroenorigins.co.uk/
Contains a good deal of archive and photographic detail, plus some interesting sound effects (!), and fun to use.
Already remarked that DS and SM are, though, oddly missing.
Some more Heritage and History here, too...

Hopefully, there will be future for the marque, too...

Just had a quick look. Pretty interesting and hopefully they will add greater interactivity and detail for each model.
Perhas they deliberately left the DS and SM off to get people to understand there are actually other models in Citroen's interesting portfolio.

That 2.0i engine sounds a little sick to me, very tappy sounding, i like the way they put the mic in the LHM resovoir for the suspension sounds, i thought they were just mking fun of themselves or had mistakenly recorded a stream.

Frankly, I'm just amazed they've actually acknowledged the XM in any form whatsoever.
Its usually swept under the carpet while people gush and wax lyrical about the DS, CX and C6.
Agree with you Dean on the sounds and general accuracy, but I suppose any exposure is good exposure at this point...

Oh yeah, i dont want to put a downer on the whole thing i think its great, it sounds like it could be one of citroens old stored XM's and probably hasnt been run in 20 years, then someone was given the task of waking it up to record some noises and the old girl was a little reluctant but yes, good effort, anyone else see the dust on the XM key? could of cleaned it before taking a photo

.
Im surprised by the choice of car to use though, i would of thought they would of put the 12v PRV on there, its the one that got all the publicity at launch even though the 2.0i was supposed to be the big seller that actually made the money, fair play though, its a lovely jesture and an interesting site.

Great website. Just been having an explore. It's great Citroen have bothered to do this. Bet it was fun recording all those sounds!
Never knew the ZX Exclusive had the XM Monte Carlo alloys. Never knew there was a ZX Exclusive for that matter!

I don't think there was, Russ, certainly not in the UK. Line-up was Reflex, Avantage, Aura - later followed by the somewhat brisk Furio,
iirc. Maybe something else dealers knew nothing about...
I'm also amazed Citroen have done this - quite unexpected - but very much welcome all the same. Perhaps PSA having second thoughts, or maybe a bit of promotional budget not being put through the 'third degree'. Hopefully not Citroen desperately trying to save themselves from oblivion.
Those two omissions are interesting. Maybe Citroen trying not to flaunt anything too flamboyant??

That's what I assumed to of the ZX range Chris. There is a pic of it in the gallery. Strange. Could of course been a mock up pic and Citroen have not realised!
Anyway, I think Citroen are doing this due to its forth coming 100 year anniversary.
Also in times of strife, car companies like to look back at their history to reinforce what it is all about. I don't think PSA are about to fold though.
