Building an XM

Post by Dieselman » Sun Nov 01, 2009 7:54 pm

This video should dispel any myths surrounding poor panel or parts fit on an XM as built.

No humans were harmed during the making of this film...

Great clip - if you use the youtube button on the top right of the text input page you only need
the FL00DqL1ePw code for the youtube clip so you get this:

Brilliant video that, I wonder if those robots can take them apart as well? I wonder what happened to them? Just an idea.

The robots being built for the start of the production run had Mk1 type electrics.
It must be a myth that it was the poor sales that limited the number of XM's produced.
The poor production numbers must have been due to earthing faults in the robots.
When they went wrong they made strangely painted MPV's, I saw that on TV.

Very good John!

Pity they weren't as easy to take apart as they were to put together. Loads of smaller sub assemblies put together. They're made that way to reduce costs, pity they never thought of the poor buggers that have to work on them.
