Lazy, lazy Ebay listing

Post by onthecut » Fri May 01, 2009 7:40 am

Just been looking at the Exclusive someone in Wales has listed. Must be one of the laziest entries I've seen in a while. If the vendor can't be bothered to make any effort with the listing, I wonder why they presume anyone will make any effort to bid ?

The one with no pictures and very few words? Yes, I thought the same.

Yes OK, lazy listing.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0326626500

That's why there'll be one bid in the dying seconds and it will be sold for £100 for a car that
actually sounds nice; green 2.1 MANUAL EXCLUSIVE with towbar, cruise, new tyres, MOT and
TAX; what more do you want!? Could even be a 2.5 as it's a manual s2!! As we all know what
a green saloon looks like, really the only thing worth questioning the seller over is the mileage
and the hydraulic pump issue. Some of my best ebay buys are from similar listings - bought one
Xantia a few years back that simply said Xantia automatic spares or repair and I arrived to
collect it not expecting much to discover a very smart very late s2 auto adaptive air/wood/
leather etc EXCLUSIVE estate for just £30...

...seller wasn't bothered and wanted it gone to lay a patio where the car was stood!!

Incidentally, the Xm is about 8 or so miles away from my barn and I could even go and look
at it for you guys but I'm afraid I may fancy what I see and don't trust myself even where I
don't need another car when I'm trying to thin numbers down - hopeless cause I know when
I've just bought another two in the past week (black 2.5 Exclusive Xm/green 1.9TD
autoadaptive Exclusive Xantia).

He who dares wins as Delboy says!! Why not ask seller a question and hope they don't post up
the answer or fill in more of the description?

Not going to sell that rapidly or come up in every search on ebay either:
"citren xm exclusive car" unless you're an ebay junkie and even then fancy
a trip to the place past the back of beyond in the strange place where they
even speak a different weird language and don't know whether to drive on
the left or right as the roads are only one car wide...

I have emailed him, will let you know if he is prepared to disclose anything more. One for you Paul? I know its the other end of Wales. The only thing that deters me slightly is that it says 'passenger airbag' that probably means it has an EPIC pump.

Going to take any buyer a long time to get it home --- it's only 2cc ! Must be the secret economy version.

Its probably got one of those little diesel engines they use in model aircraft - makes more noise than a 2.1 :D

I had an email in reply to the list of questions I sent, the only information sent was that it was an 'N' reg, 95. Its very unusual for a '95 to have a passenger air bag, it must have been sold very soon after it was made.

I had just arranged to go and see her this afternoon although she couldn't say what size
engine it has. Apparently the steering brakes and suspension aren't working well so they
suspect the pump although it may help if it had enough LHM sloshing about in it!

I see there's a bid now; wonder if there's going to be a stampede for it as it's a 2.5?
Anyone here bid as I won't bother getting involved although it is on my doorstep?
