Citroen Classic Challenge - 1st-11th June 2017!

I have signed up for this event after the amazing trip in 2015 and some of you may recall my blog! viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7240&hilit=challenge" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The route this year is through the north-east of France to the Alps and touching the Mediterranean at either Nice or Biarritz, with around 3,000 miles to be covered. As for 2015, the organizer is the very excellent Phil Chidlow, who does a fantastic job on planning the routes, which includes the location of suitable campsites and hotels. There will also be an opportunity to visit a couple of brilliant looking museums and hopefully to call in at the Lyon Expo where the XM was launched on 23rd May 1989.
On this occasion I plan to take my 1989 lhd S1 V6 Exclusive, the 'Poland car', which seems an appropriate choice, given this XM's early service history in France and possible attendance at the 1989 launch event. I attach some recent photos of the car and I am now actively looking for a travel companion willing to share the experience with the driving and petrol and ferry costs, while I expect the overall expenditure might be around £1,200. My intention is to economize by camping and self-catering, rather than hotellling and eating out, although the latter choices are obviously also available.
I would be very pleased to receive any enquiries and further details can be supplied, including a really impressive and seductive itinerary prepared by Phil. A firm commitment will be required in the relatively near future before ferry charges increase.
With regards,
Matthew T.
