Missing XMers

Post by DerekW » Mon Nov 09, 2009 5:26 pm

It's good to see so many of the old gang on the new site, and what an impressive site it's becoming - thanks Ciaran for all your efforts. Good also to see the new members taking such an active part.

But what's happened to Wirdy, and Kiwi, and ......?

Techmanagain.........?

And what about Noz?

Looks like clubxm.com is finished for good........sadly, someday, (possibly in the not too distant future) it will disappear altogether :( , with all that useful info......

Like Derek said, well done Ciaran. Thank's for the new forum. Your hard work is much appreciated :D .

Wirdy knows we're here and registered on 3 May so fairly early on!
TMA has posted a few times here too, though no NOZ!

Why not copy everything and pasting it here (dumb suggestion, I suppose  )

Why not 'whack' the lot and put in a special folder for anyone to read? I've been in and read most of the stuff I needed help on and I would feel lost without some help from that site as well as the excellent help given on this site, some of the old team just haven't found this site and I feel the more people writing about their car wo'es brings forth more help if there are plenty more owners in the circle willing to write in about their experiences.

Hi All

I would like to hear from Noz before we consider starting any indiscriminate wholesale copying of the old forum here.
Noz was the site administrator and put a lot of work in over the years.
Prior to the site failure the old site owner made statements about content ownership.
That said moving chunks of your own previous postings with their context is perfectly reasonable.

Hi John.

I live fairly close to Norrie but although I don't know his exact address, I bet I could find him. I have E-mailed him asking him to join us because I did appreciate his input to the forum, as did lots of members, but as I was a fairly new member I did not want to just jump in when older (in member time. Not age!) had been unable to entice him to join us, but if you like I will make a personal aproach. I pass fairly close to his villiage every weekend, he did at one time offer me the use of his sphere pressure system one time so have a half excuse. for calling.
Noz had so much to offer on any forum and I for one do feel we really need him here.

I seem to have lost the plot as I don't seem to be able to find a live Club XM like we used to have. Any guidance please from any reader. Techmanagain

As I understand it club-xm.co.uk has had recent intermittent unavailability due to server problems, but is now back up (fingers crossed!).
club-xm.com (the other forum) is now under Noz's sole control, but unfortunately seems to be losing out in popularity / post numbers. The best compromise IMHO would be an amalgamation but there does not seem to be any desire to do this.
