October Weekend Parts disposal 28th and 29th October 2017

Some of you know me, a lot of you don’t. I’m not doing this for attention, I’m doing this for the Citroen’s and to give something back to the Citroen Community.

I’m 41 years old and 1 month ago I was diagnosed with a mid brain, high grade glioma. It’s inoperable due to its location. Treatment could give me an average 12 month life expectancy, if it’s successful.

Over the past few years I’ve built up a small collection of Citroens, most of which are currently on sale. I’ve had my licence revoked due to my tumour, this has affected me the most. And now everything needs to go.

I’ve also acquired a few spare parts, not a massive amount, but certainly enough to cause concern on how I am to move these on. Too many for eBay listings, and I would never dream of simply disposing of them. But I need to clear out soon whilst I’m still able, I don’t want my family having to deal with the parts too as I feel a lot may be lost. I’ve hatched a plan...

It started off with the club-xm boys, I was gonna hold my very own garage sale and invite my XM friends, then I thought about my friends from CCC too, surely I could turn this into something? I have the space to hold my own event, why not?

So, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October 2017 is the weekend in question.

And here is a brief run down on what I hope to achieve

Saturday afternoon arrive at location for coffee and chat (optional)

For those that wish to join us in the evening I’ve asked about hiring a bus to take us to see the World Famous Blackpool Illuminations, there will be a stop in Blackpool to enjoy the attractions and fish & chips on the promenade. returning to the bus for a drive through the illuminations and back to Merseyside.

There will be a charge for this, to be confirmed once I’ve received a price for the bus.
Pick up and drop off will be local to the location of the garage sale in case some of you have booked accommodation.

Sunday Morning I’ll open the garage sale, I’m thinking help yourself to some parts and I’ll leave an honesty box, the rarer stuff I’ll take very reasonable offers on.

There will be free tea/coffee and bacon butties on offer.

Sunday Afternoon I’m hoping to plan a drive out somewhere. This is where I’m looking for help to organise. I’m thinking Southport, I know some good Citroen driving roads on the way there. Photo shoot in Southport and convoy home?

I’m extending this invite to each and every one of you.

The postcode of the venue is L20 9HN, it’s on Merseyside in the North West. There are lots of reasonably priced hotels close by if you need accommodation.

Please try and join us for 1 of the events.

Thank You

Ray Noon.

Ray, I really would, if I weren't the wrong end of Europe.
I hope it goes well, and take my hat off to you for organising this, which all makes good sense.
Looks as if several of us will be there, and hopefully the numbers will grow.

This deserves all the support it can get, fellas!

Hi Ray. Whne you say Merseyside, do you mean Liverpool? My sat nav is not so clever that it can tell me the city or town, which I need to know in case I want to book a nearby hotel.

Hello Ray.
I'm one of these member who usually stays in forum’s shadow and not taking a part in many treads and activities like meetups. Main reason for that is because my XM is far away (ongoing repairs) and I’m not using it atm. For same reason have not been on any CCC really this year (I know I should come anyway :] ).
I think it could be a good moment to step forward and meet You and other Citroen enthusiasts. I don’t need any parts right now, so I’ll stay focused on Sat. Book day off from work already and can confirm that definitely coming. I read information posted by Wendy on CCC North FB page and pay pay for 'my seat' through PayPal already. All sorted, so all I need now is just few more details about place and time.

Regards
Prem

Hi Prem, you can either arrive at L20 9HN between 2 and 3pm for a coffee and meet other people or L31 8BX at 4pm.

I’m looking forward to meeting you.

Ray.
