Looks brilliant. Was the BX a "random" sighting? LG.

Ray, what are your plans for the journey back. Was thinking if you are travelling near me, could join you for a bit of a convoy, even if just a short one?!

Just a quick update.... I. Sorry I haven’t posted much... after Matthew left I became quite poorly in Spain. A course of anti biotic was supposed to clear up a chest infection which seemed to linger, I decided to overnight ferry from Santander to Portsmouth as I really didn’t have the energy to travel through France. We broke the journey with a 2 night stop in a nice seaside town called Stiges were the XM was broken into and most of our belongings were stolen. Auto glass Spain carried out a free plexiglass repair which allowed us to continue home. We arrived in Santander and boarded the ferry home.
The following day I become unwell again and spent most of the day in the ships medibay. Upon arrival at Portsmouth I was taken to Queen Alexander hospital were I spent 2 nights before begging to go home, I was then taken by XM to my local hospital were they’ve finally told me I have legionnaires disease. I’m glad to be home and with family. I’m doing ok and in the best possible care.

So..... the XM....3924 miles, trouble free mechanically, cruised impeccably on the motorways. Only minor niggles, wiper arms loose, Earth points left off, broken rear speaker.

5 fill ups....averaged 784.8 miles per tank. A LOT of the roads we travelled were toll and empty. We were able to cover a lot of miles in good time.

The best part of the trip...... not 1 hold up on the M6 yesterday.

Ray.

proper little Trooper, aren't you Ray...

Just what you needed...Unclean aircon, or showers in water stored too cool is what promoted legionella. :(

Very sorry to hear you have been so unwell Ray. Disappointing end to an epic trip. Glad you are home safe and sound and being looked after now though.

Pity about the car being broken into. Hopefully it's easily fixed and not a quaterlight they smashed.

It was very good to hear you made it home safely Ray and in the circumstances that sounds like a good decision to travel back via Santander and Portsmouth. The illness and damage to your car and lost belongings must have been really distressing and annoying but you also had many brilliant experiences! I feel so fortunate I managed to meet up for that short period near Benidorm and many thanks again! The performance of the XM was certainly impressive and especially the distance of nearly 4,000 miles covered. I wondered if you also managed to visit Gibraltar and I am guessing not with you being unwell. Please do keep us posted on your further exploits and treatment. With regards, Matthew T.
