No need to add anything to decent engine or gear oil - it already contains all the detergent and cleaning agents needed. A long hot run will do a diesel a power of good; ideal antidote to all the local trips.

But premium diesel, from time to time, seems to do good.

A DATE FOR DEPARTURE HAS BEEN SET: We’re setting off from Liverpool on Wednesday 3rd January 2018, up to now there are 2 XM’s going, and I’m looking for others to join a convoy en route, it could be for an hour, the day or even across the channel, the choice is yours. I’ll share travel plans with whomever wishes to join in, the route in UK will be M6, M1, M25, and M20 to Dover, arriving BY 3pm for a 4pm sailing to Dunkirk. Arrive Dunkirk 7pm local time and then about an hour drive to the first overnight stop near Fouquières-lès-Béthune.

A GoFundMe page has been set up and the response so far has been overwhelming, I’ll leave a link here,

PLEASE DONT FEEL OBLIGED TO DONATE, all I ask is that you share it for me so I can reach a Far and wide audience. And if the link isn’t allowed please accept my apologies and remove it

Thanks for reading and I’m looking forward to hearing from YOU in regards to a convoy.....ideas, suggestions etc etc

Apparently these run until 28/02/2018.

https://www.coupons.com/coupon-codes/eurotunnel/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There may be others., just try a web search.

Personally, I prefer the ferry as you can get out of the car and have a bite to eat before pressing on. Last time I booked through A Ferry and it was a cracking deal.

Date sat and route set, leaving early AM 3rd January, meeting CCC folk in Northampton for breakfast and a short convoy down the M1, onto Folkestone, Travelling by Eurotunnel to Calais, then Bethune for our first overnight stop, Thursday it’s down to Reims grandstand for photos, then into Reims to visit the Musee Automobile, then a 4 hour drive south to Dole, near Dijon. Friday we’re off into Lyon for a bit of sightseeing then onto Clermont-Ferrand for our overnight stop. Saturday it’s into Millau for photos with the bridge, then over the viaduct and off into Montpellier for our overnight stop. Sunday we’re heading directly for Barcelona, staying overnight there and Monday heading directly to The Costa Blanca.

I’m yet to plan the return trip, but I’m hoping to do it via Italy, Switzerland Germany etc....
