Lock Set S1 vs S2

Hi all,

Ongoing problem with my new 1994 S2 XM central locking and locks, still exploring solution:

Would a series 1 lock set fit into a series 2?

For instance, could the door/boot barrels be exchanged and would the S1 ignition metalwork fit into a S2?

I appreciate the remote central locking system is different, IR versus RF, but I understand there is an aftermarket way around that.

My existing lock system is well worn and the N/S just spins around, plus central locking has been disabled by removal of fuse due to some problem by previous owner, and I need to investigate further.

Thanks,
Lee

Door locks are designed to spin unless the key is pushed inwards.

afaik, there is no fundamental difference between S1 and S2 lock sets, other than ignition switch connectors.

You know where these are some S2 cars being broken, they do have working locks, as they were daily use cars.

Thanks for the replies all.

I've made contact with Greg, Will, thanks - I'll hopefully be meeting up in a week or so to see what can be done there. Be also good to meet yourself soon.

Cheers,
Lee
