One things for sure, there's a lot of F45JKN rust.

Parts seem plentiful though, and cheep. Just ordered a full engine service kit and carb rebuild kit for under £100, im on the lookout for a pair of outer wings and a scuttle panel next, poss lower door skin repair panels too.

Loooooove old campers!

Good luck Dean. Get it on LPG and it will be nice and cheap to run.

Thanks James, never been a big LPG fan to be honest, don't really do the mileage to make it worth it but if I do it will be a long way down the line yet, thankfully the wife is taking care of the retrim and decor, tomorrow night i am re-piping the gas as compression fittings in a high vibration environment was not the best of idea, previous owner said he didn't use the gas as it was so expensive, I can see why, he was burning half and firing the rest out of the leaking pipe joints.

Just got a new gearbox mount too as the old one is missing all its rubber elements.

Also worth re-doing any waste plumbing in 32mm rigid pvc, if the original was flexi pipe.

The shower and sink are very slow to drain, i need to look into why that would be but assum small bore pipework ful of decades of yuk. I also need to re-wire some 'modifications' made by previous owners, bypassed fuses, twisted wires, insulating tape, speaker wire used on the 10A water pump, all that good stuff, the core of the wiring is OK its just the ends of runs near appliances that have been "improved"

All sounds typical of numpty caravan owners. Some original build/van conversion was not too brilliant either.
Flexi waste pipe droops, and collects nasties.
Amazingly, one of the better Haynes books is the caravan manual by John Wickersham, but it's all commonsense.
At least you can make tea while doing the work!

yep, make tea with the lights and heating on too, i think i will lay the XM up early this year so i can concentrate on Rusty, it will be a rather large rolling project i think but fun all the same.
