Mechanical pumps with no ecu will work. Trouble is Xm bosch pumps are rare. A bosch pump off a xantia mk. 1 td will work but will need tuning and tweeking.

Hi thanks. Well presumably it's a mechanical pump? It is a Bosch I know and we re pretty sure the injection pump is responsible for the slightly erratic and slight misfire through the range. It's better when it's warmer and it's better now I ve had the injectors re furbished. But it's still there esp from cold and the smoke though not so excessive is still white. Other avenues we ve covered and we suspect the timing also. So pump needs refurbishing and timing setting up. Will a specialist be able to refurbish a pump like this, if so that's fine. What do you think? Richard.

Get it refurb Ed. If you intend to keep it long term its well worth it. That car has had veggie in it in the past. I'm not a fan. I killed two bosch pumps with crap veggie. Managed to reserect one after two year search for a working pump.. Stuck it on.. No timing setup.. No advance cables setup.. And woom went away..

Hi mate that's very interesting! I've used veggie, good stuff, on an old taxi. Only trouble I had was filters. Interesting you killed 2 Bosch pumps, I thought they could cope with it. Still I'll keep clear this time. Glad you say it can be refurbed. Injectors are already done. I'll do it, tell me what did you mean in your last sentence? Richard. :D

No. The owner before Ray was a bit of a veggie man.

I think there's a difference between wvo and vo.. Prehaps poor wvo was my cause. Though I am now pleased she runs.. Prehaps I should stick to New veg oil only..
