XM Milestones chart

Have now put together a date-line chart on XM milestones and evolution.
This is a revised draft, so if you can spot errors, gaps, or suggest additions, that will be very welcome.
XM Milestones_3.pdf
.
The list of reference and workshop documents which John has started is still being added to, and will get tidied up into a separate document, for inclusion in the Self Help section.

From what I believe the V6 24v Prv was a model in its own right.. consisting off the glory colour parts leather covered steering wheel and to it originally the 24v alloys..

I'm also led to believe that only the 2.0i 8v and 3.0 V6 12v manuals ONLY were first launch. There was no auto initially.. (in the UK anyway).. auto came a couple months later and SE spec wasn't colour coded and featured the alloys with large plastic centre disc..

Autos came a few months later with auto options..

They did the same with xantias. Initalle launch was majority of petrol engine cars where the diesels comes few months later..

One of the BEST publications for launch info times and spec changes were the Parker's price guides from the 90s. I had a good collection of them simply for the specs and upgrades and they were rather accurate.. I guess for the trade world...

I am sorry to come in a bit late, but well done Chris for taking the initiative and all your hard work and excellent contributions as ever from John and Paul. It was a great honour to have my early S1 car mentioned and I found only two other older cars in France and Germany and only by a few days but I do not recall the RP. I also just wanted to confirm that the only two models available at the original launch at Lyon Expo in early 1989 were the 2.0i and 3.0i with manual gearboxes and two or possibly three levels of trim. The diesel and auto options came later and I think here in both cases early 1990. I think we got the S1 24v here from October 1990 and the light face-lift in 1992 also included the wobbly web wheels, improved Braille button radio etc. Best regards, Matthew T.

I thought that was the case with original launch..

As far as V6 was concerned there was Si and Sei in V6s I'm assuming though that low sales saw Si V6s dropped..

As for steering wheel controls again for UK market S and SE always had steering wheel radio controls this wasn't confined to the 24v prv model only...

As for cruise control it was a NO option at all untill the 1992 revision and was on Autos only (except 2.5s). Manuals never saw cruise control.

Diesels didn't get cruise at all untill series two models. Again autos only.

1992 update saw Sei cars become identical to the V6 24v Prv cars thus the 24v loosing it's unique identity. Twin spoke wheels across the range. And cruise control added to petrol autos.

Diesel Sed didn't get wood on the dash untill 1992 update. Where 12v and 24v did have full wood from 1990.

Visually identical, but the Sei didn't have heated rear seats.

V6 Sei did from 1992. My K reg one had it. The car was identical to the V6 24v car plus the added cruise control..
