What engine does the car have and which item of the cable has broken?

2.0 petrol cables are different to the rest.

Hi thanks for reply
It’s the 2.0 turbo petrol RHD wonder if you know is there a difference RHD To LHD, ok the car is a friends he drove it from uk to Spain but broke in France, the French mechanic’s said impossible to get a cable so he left the car there in France with the mechanics thinking he could sort it at a later date, we’ll now they are refusing the let the car go, he thinks they are trying to fob him off so they can keep it, we are now in the process of getting insurance to pick it up and bring to Spain, as this is where we live, so any help getting a cable would be very helpful as in a Citroen XM supplier
Regards
Clive

Big difference between lhd and rhd..

The best way is to get it off and send it to a cable manufacturer company.. there are places that can make them. Is it decently the cable and not the nylon quadrant behind the engine. Cables are fairly tough it's the connecting quadrant behind the engines that usually fail..

...or the plastic connector between the upper cable and pedal.
I believe the plastic used for both plastic parts is acetal. Very hard and tough, but eventually fractures.

Due to the need to turn 90 degrees very tightly, a Rhd Xm cable unit is made up of two cables, a mounting bracket, a plastic bell crank and a plastic pedal connector.

Sourcing a complete Rhd Xm clutch cable is likely to be a real mission, but they can be repaired.

Recover the car and have a look, then we can help further.

I have cables from quadrant to box.. sadly I cannot get to them due to my current health.. your timing is wrong for me but as I now only have an auto XM left cables are little use to me unless I did a manual conversion... but not in this life time I dont think..

If the car has been left with the French garage for some time, it could be that they now have storage charges in mind. This is not unusual for repairs delayed at the customer's request (or situation).
Important to get this sorted sooner rather than later, so charges do not escalate.
Not unknown for a garage to offer to keep a car in lieu of these charges.

Parts list 2150 J6 cable for XU10J2 engine with BE3 box.
NFP, and part not on Mister Auto or PSA Pieces de Rechange either.
