We wouldn't have many big shows over here, and when they are on they are very well attended. Great weather also helped.
I kind of know what you mean Robert. It does make the XM a little dated. I never liked the face lifted version. It has to be one just like that one at the show.
Was it a V6?...it seems to be wearing the V6 alloys.

Sorry chaps, but I cannot agree about the Safrane, which to me just looks like any other euro saloon. I admit the XM does have the appearance of an older car, but that is a lot of the appeal surely!! The lines of the Safrane seem much closer to the Xantia, which is also not unattractive, but for me at least does not have that special something the XM has in spades. I think I would be more drawn to owning a R25 with all the toys if I was going for a Renualt. Regards, Matthew T.

I suppose it is less distinctive than the XM. But I think it is a smart design. Mind you..like with anything, if they are grotty, they look terrible.
I like the 25 very much. The dashboard and interior is worth it alone.

Fair comment Russ and it is interesting how similar the dashes are on the 25 and Safrane, with the latter a bit toned down as with the Xantia I suppose. Although I also admire the 25 dash it is more radical than the XM and perhaps a little clunky after the passage of years! With regards, Matthew T.

The Renault Alpines were indeed excellent. The Renault stand and the Peugeot 505 were highlights for me. Car of the show for me was the XJ220. I had a poster of a XJ220 on my bedroom wall as a youngster.

This! They're quite simply fantastic aren't they?!! A few years back there was one at a show we went to, and the owner very kindly let me sit in the drivers seat.
Out of curiosity I've just had a look on eBay for them... There's one on there - just a rolling shell - for £50K...!
