Ill be there with a friend (hoping to convert him)
However the Xm has disgraced itself rather badly yesterday by blowing a rear high pressure pipe- So much smoke I thought it was on fire!
Will either be in a knackered micra or on motorbikes for fri/sat/sunday +convoy +meal

Was it rust that caused that? They are fairly thick those pressure pipes..

ONLY the pipes from the centre Block to the struts are the THINK uns... the feed front to rear are ordinary 3.5mm pipes...

My guess, one of the pipes over the top of the subframe, where it passes between the fuel tank and frame in a C clip...

ah, those famous ones.

I've recently seen the damage of rust in those plastic clips. I am contemplating to start changing those 4 pipes, or rather cutting them and make new pieces. Just to avoid this kind trouble. I have the tool and the materials now.

Those are a ticking time bomb for bursting on un touched cars.

Ill be going through all mine as I get to them.. Use Nickel pipes, never have an issue ever again

I look forward to seeing you Dave and very sorry to hear about the XM!
ah, those famous ones.
I have had this problem on two of my cars, which on one occasion was corrosion against a plastic clip and the other ironically abrasion where a clip was displaced!!

Need to buy some pipe, might as well replace all the rears, I have not yet identified which pipe it is, but assume it is the usual suspect!
