I've always fancied doing something like this so put my name down as a possibly.

Girl friend isn't interested so I'll see if a mate wants to come along.

Sorry everyone I have been off this Forum for a while (and have just spent a while catching up!).

I feel it's time I updated this thread with the latest news. Dates: 9th-15th May 2012.

First, the route has been firmed up (although it was always going to be a 'suggested' route - I don't want to dictate too much how a team gets from A to B) and (modesty aside) it's a CRACKER. The mountain stages will be amazing - and this will be a real challenge for driver, navigator and car alike. About 1500 miles, much above 1500 metres. E-mail me for a route plan if you are interested. I only ask that you don't share it willy-nilly as it took a fair amount of time/effort and we don't want another marque's club doing it at the same time do we?! The event ends in Epinal on the 15th May to allow for everyone to make their preferred route home.

Secondly, the Entry Forms are now available, again just e-mail me.

Thirdly, there are going to be around 30 teams taking part; we have representatives of DS,SM,CX, BX, GS/A, Visa and Dyane (I hope), Xantia and XM... It'll be a truly memorable event over 8 days.

I plan to get the affair professionally filmed too!

Phil ( citroenclassic@btopenworld.com )

PS Come and see me at the CCC National if you're going. Gazebo and French flag!

And for all you drivers (and not just Xantia Activa ones  ) here's something to remind you of the sort of place we'll be visiting on the Challenge... So c'mon, get your entries in!

This is the Col d'Izoard. 31 kms of suspension work out.

Are there ANY XMs taking part? I can't see the event without at least one XM taking part...

Oooh! (I have had such a turnover of Citroens in recent years/months, if it's one I owned you might need to remind me... which one?.. is it magenta or green?)...

Aaah, well at one point on the Challenge route we will be only about 24kms from the place I collected it from, so I could tell the former owner so he could meet up for a cuppa somewhere in between (OK, getting a cuppa might not be that easy, but some of us wil be able to brew up on the roadside :) )...

Anyway it would be brilliant if you could take part as XMs are not exactly filling the ranks of the participating cars yet!
