It was a very good event, I was there in my Activa today, but the XM lineup was very strong and included some really nice cars.

Thanks for the ride in your V6 Matthew, that is some car, Im amazed by it, what a noise and feeling it gives. Until going in that I would never have thought Citroen would have made it, XMs just don't go and sound like that  Its looking stunning too. Car of the show for me 8-)

I did enjoy the drive in your 2.1 Will, its a nice car and goes well, I like it :)

It certainly was a good event and it seems I spent a good part of it amongst the XMs :D

It's telling that XMs outnumber Xantias very comprehensively at all meetings nowadays although the vast majority of Xantias present were Activas and three of those were V6s!!!

Chris, I know what you mean about Matthew's 24V S1. Gorgeous.. It sounds like an automotive orchestra when it's going along.

Dieselman, it was really good to meet up and have a long natter and thanks ever so for the spin in your Colbalt. That car really is a credit to you, it drives beautifully :D

Spending so much time amongst XMs and their owners has me wanting one...

Possibly more news on that later...

It was indeed really enjoyable to meet up with fellow XM enthusiasts and other friends and a pleasure to share enthusiasm for the series one 24v - many thanks Chris, Jim and Will. I also enjoyed seeing Franklin's tidy V6 12v and another V6 12v in an early series 2 estate 'Exclusive' model (Nice Polish Chap, sorry I forgot your name). The Cobalt XM sd saloon driven by Will was the smoothest diesel I have heard in a while! I attach a few of my photos including CX's for Robert S. Another XM that caught my interest was the 'G' plate 2.0si, which must have been the earliest in attendance, although unfortunately I did not catch the owners for a chat (an older couple I think?) Here's looking forward to the CXM/GS/A/Xantia rally in September. With regards, Matthew T. PS. Do keep us posted on the XM acquisition Jim - Franklin's V6 possibly!

No, not that one either Matthew ;)

Sorry to be a bit mysterious but as soon as the deal is finalised I'll reveal what it is...

An enjoyable weekend was most certainly had, star of the show had to be the on-the-cheap Visa with a partly wooden lettered numberplate, house style lighting switches, mix and match lights, the list goes on

Yes it was good to meet you too Matthew - funnily enough, today saw us visit Aylsham on a visit to Keys!

Here's some more pictures and info. on the rally that I orginally posted on the FCF -

Many thanks to all that voted for the Visa Special to become Shed of the Show!

Image

Also, I was quite amazed that my other Visa, the 14TRS, got so many votes as the People's Choice Concourse Winner - Len Drew won the prize with his fabulous DS and beat my Visa by one vote! I was not expecting that at all at is was not at all prepared in any way - Dom and I got it out of it's garage on Friday after 5 months standing, connected the battery, dusted it off and drove it there! I didn't even wash it!!

Beauty and the Beast! :D

Image

Unfortunately I feel that I missed out on the big Activa photoshoot at the end, as during Matt, Dad and I moving the cars back home, I stupidly left my camera bag in the C3 which had the Activa keys in it!

Well done Tim - good choice of venue too...whoever chose that...??!! :P

 I've got more plans for it for the 2013 National Rally Kev - more mad modifications are on the horizon. I do actually know of the whereabouts of another Visa that has been stood under a tree for 26 years and looks WORSE than my other Visa. Mmm...I may have to buy that!
