I know a lady who makes excellent flapjack. Perhaps we could set up a stall and any proceeds go to a worthwhile cause/charity.

It's a kind of biscuit made of these ingredients:

350g Porridge oats;
75g Golden Syrup;
225g Demerara Sugar
225g Butter;
and 75g Sultanas.

Melt the butter in a large pan over a low heat, add the demerara sugar and golden syrup and heat until a nice thick syrup is achieved. Remove from heat, stir in the oats and sultanas.

When well mixed transfer to a greased and lined baking tray, a big one, spreading the mixture out in it to a depth of a centimetre or so.

Bake at Gas Mark 3 for 40 minutes until golden. Do not over bake and rotate the tray to ensure even baking.

Let cool for ten minutes, turn out of the tray onto a board and cut into squares with a sharp knife.

Then enjoy :D 8-)

For a change replace the sultanas with cranberries.

Oh gosh, I can feel a ban coming on and I've only been back a few days too! :lol:

In my defence m'lud, flapjacks make excellent food for when you're working on XMs...
