Wow very nice pictures, some lovely looking cars there too. Is that the most immaculate Xm in the world? The less than 20K miles V6 if i remember right? Stunning. 8-)

Im not mocking the manual Xms Adrew, might seem that way actually but i do like them both. Doesnt bother me in the slightest, its something you very quickly get used to and its a nice little quirk to the car. I was surprised to find out that some Mercs have that idea too, really not a Merc person so ive no idea the model name but the C-Class between 2000-2005 i think has a foot operated parking brake, so the manuals will be 4 pedals too.

The centre console would have to be very different to have a handbrake, so im happy it has a foot operated parking brake, frees up so much more room in the middle and is actually very easy to use.

If there was one event i wanted to make this year it would have been this one, seems a very good turn out of Xms, anyone got more pictures?

All Mercedes other than A and B class use the foot operated parking brake. It's identical to the Citroen one with the exception that you can't leave the release handle in the released position.
I can't say I ever had any problems using the parking brake and manual gearbox on the XM, though people do seem confused by it and seem to think they need to have an extra leg..?? :?

I only took a few pictures...C6 and new suspension system

I knew that the bigger Mercedes cars have a foot operated parking brake, but didnt know about the smaller ones. Most big ones are automatics anyway, not that manual cars with the foot parking brake is a bad thing! :D

Thats Keiths C6 isn’t it, its very nice, ive been in it a couple of times and had a drive of it too, one of my favourite cars the C6, just lovely. 8-) It does actually look like a true Citroen

I love the fact XM manuals have 4 pedals, its just another quirky, strange thing about the car, that has people going 'WTF' when they look at it :)

It is, and isn't Keith accomodating...what a nice Chap.
The car has done 16k miles, probably about 15.5k have been done by people test driving it at GTG...

One of the nicest people you could meet. He had a really nice Xm before the C6 too, would have been a very nice car to buy.

Yes i think you might be right! its always out on drives but he seems to love letting people drive it and be in it. Such a fantastic car. Mind his recent tyre bill was quite shocking, it would probably buy a couple of Xms actually

First time I'd been to any kind of rally-really enjoyed it! Good to meet lots of friendly helpful people-lots of knowlege and a willingness to share it too!
Forgive me if I miss any names but good to meet Jim, Steve, Matthew,Bantam (Paul?), Ian, Sid the Squid!,the 2CV occupants, Will and Sue,Robert-although it was only a passing meeting!
Special thanks to Keith for trusting me with his gorgeous C6 (I need one-no not want- NEED!) also to Phil (and Danny) for giving us a ride (my 1st) in the CX-magnifique!
Thanks to -though I didn't get your name-the kind chap who offered to take us out in the DS-although we kept on missing each other-I hope you enjoyed your dinner finally!
When initially I drove in to the field I thought it seemed a bit quiet but far from it-the lack of numbers was more than compensated for by the warmth and friendliness-I'll definately attend again!
