Citroen Classic Challenge 2015!

Post by MTXM » Mon Feb 09, 2015 10:40 am

I just wondered if anyone might be interested to join this expedition in June advertised through the CCC magazine? The itinerary and route look really attractive and my wife thinks I should go for it!! It seems we need to book asap. With regards, Matthew T.

I can heartily recommend it Matthew. I went on the Classic Challenge in 2012 and had a fantastic time. Over two and a half thousand miles in just over a week, fantastic scenery, fantastic roads and made some friends for life.

Many thanks Mark and it would be great if I could find a co-pilot and/or some other XMs to join in! With regards, Matthew T.

I'm planning on taking the BX on this years Challenge. Has much as I like the comfort of the XM, I just don't 'trust' it enough compared to the BX. With the falling price of fuel, there will be a considerable saving compared to the 2012 Challenge. One thing I would recommend Matthew is a C.B. radio. We all had them in 2012 and it is an invaluable addition.

It was good to hear that you are planning to attend Mark and if I cannot find a co-pilot for my XM perhaps I could be yours!! With regards, Matthew T.

How very kind Mark and I may well take you up that and especially as no one is rushing to co-pilot me!! With regards, Matthew T.

It really does look like a wonderful route, through some stunning scenery. Millau is just breathtaking.

I did the BXagon which Phil also organised back in 2009. It was rather epic! Over 3000 miles around the perimeter of France in a fortnight. To be honest, it was a bit too long, which is why this seems a shorter (and more sensible!) event. To make life more interesting, we refused to use Peage on that trip, so saw a LOT of the real France. Quite wonderful. Sadly, we haven't got the budget for such trips this year. Already trying to plan for the ICCCCCCCR in The Netherlands next year though.
