Could put on a good car jumble up there, I've been wanting to kayak the straights up there for a while too.

At least Cheltenham is on the same side of the country for you Paul, although not as close as Cosford I acknowledge! Regards, Matthew T.

The DS Rally is still held at Little Horwood. Does anyone have contact with Nigel Wilde, he would be able to give an idea on costs.

The advantage with LH is that all necessary amenities are already on site. I asked about renting a field to use, but then you need to factor in Toilet and shower block rental, which is more than renting the LH site costs in entirety.

Somewhere like Cosford is Ok for a day meet, but it's not a weekend Rally.

Also what about liability insurance. Is that covered by the site or do we have too. Another issue to overcome. Is this an independent rally or a CCC based rally we are planning?

Cheltenham has a larger club house to Little Horwood, including a bar I think. It should have all the facilities we need. Not to mention the surrounding a entires are many. However it's if they will allow us to use it. Again this is what I need to find out.

I have to admit, little Horwood does have a very nice atmosphere, and it is a great site for a car rally. But if you still want to do convoys or a visit to somewhere in the area, the options have now run out. I talked to Jim about this a while ago.

I could be wrong here, but I thought it was something like £300 for the weekend. Not sure, don't quote me on it. Isn't Nigel's email address in the Citroenian?

I'm sure it is, but that's about the cost of hiring a toilet block. IIRC, as an official CCC club rally, the club covered the liability insurance.

£300:
10 cars = £30 each
100 cars = £3 each.

Admittedly, do to good organisation by Patrick, Franklin and the Westons, there was a healthy turnout at the LH meets, more than covering the field rental.

Plus they went over and beyond on other things like catering.

Personally I would say £10 a car for the weekend is fair. The DS rally charges at least that.

The couple of years that I ran the CX rally at LH the field was booked by Jocelyn Remy. I have a contact for her but Mr Rugg is probably a safer bet! I used the Shoulder of Mutton to provide the evening meal and the fish and chip van for Friday.
I appreciate that most of the runs have been run,

There is a venue near me but I suspect that Wiltshire may be a bit off the edge of the map for most folks.

Good venue for a rally.
