Doing a meet with the CX crowd will surely make for a whole lot better weekend. (Why the hell is the CCC so disparate?)

As far as venues are concerned Little Horwood doesn't do it for me. The facilities don't make up for the fact it's a field in the middle of nowhere next to a crap pub. The only bit that's any use is the fish and chip van. Cheltenham's the same distance for me so is a possible. RAF Cosford was spot on. Plenty to do, loads to see, the facilities are there and it's cheap. But all of them are better than the venue for last years National.

Interesting find Rob.

That is the same for this year, albeit with some improvements!! Regards, Matthew T.

Hardly a find! I have lived in Calne for the best part of 20 years and it is less than 2 miles from my house!

They do have some interesting events and more club are using them each year.

I can also plot some stunning runs around my home county (I may be a bit biased here!)

I tend to find the XM and (CX) world rather too far East for me (no offence to Matthew et al)

If anyone fancies a bit of a West Country jaunt I would be more than willing to set something up. There are also the car shows at the Bath and West show ground at Shepton Mallet. They are often called the Bristol classic car shows which is strange 'cause Shepton Mallet is hardly a suburb of Bristol :)

West country is good for me too, I like that side of the north island.
What was up with the national?

Me too. :)

I quite agree, I'm a little fed up of heading eastwards for rallies. Sorry everyone who lives that way.

I have sent my email to the Cheltenham cricket club, so we shall see.

We've got another G section stand this year at the Bristol Car Show at the Bath and West Showground. The camping area is massive, a couple of toilet/shower blocks. They have classic car parking on the show days, the show and autojumble itself would take a good while to walk around. A few local hotels and B&Bs, large Tesco 3 miles away in Shepton Mallet.

One of the important things with this show is that you have thousands of people looking at the cars. We had lots of people enquiring about Gs, sharing their stories and taking photos which has no doubt raised the profile.

I'm a little fed up of heading south Russ, but once you draw that imaginary line at MK the southerners get a nosebleed.

I can hold my head high here as I lived in Leeds for 7 years and went to uni in Durham and Lancaster! Not too bad for a Moonraker!!!!! MK is no barrier for me............:)

There is never a perfect location.

Th Bristol show is always good. The classic parking is always interesting. Perhaps we could gather a few XMs in the car parking? I must admit that I usually go in the Sprite as the sun generally shines.
