Went to this last year. Five minutes from the A1? - if you can find it!

It's a field in the middle of nowhere. No signs, no info, no thanks!

Well we attended this event in two XM V6 and quite enjoyed ourselves, despite a good deal of other negative comment there and since! I accept that the turn-out was quite low, but there were some very good quality cars on display, including a reasonable number of XM and good range of BX, C6, DS and other assorted both earlier and recent models. The weather was hot on the Saturday with quite a strong breeze and occasional showers on Sunday. I think putting attendance to one side you get out of these events what you put in and it is very easy to be critical. In relation to the XM crowd there were several of the regulars plus a few others less often seen and it was really good to meet and catch up. One particular highlight was an extremely rare Citroen UK rally SM and I enjoyed chatting with the very nice new owner, plus inspecting a superb light blue Chapron DS. We actually quite like the venue with tons of space for camping and the children to run around (as drive) and a fair amount of effort was made with catering and evening entertainment. The three DS 60th current models resplendant in ink blue and a Cactus were also on display and to trial, which was quite a treat, although I did not partake myself! The venue facilities are quite basic to be honest with only portaloos and showers and there is nothing else really to see or do on site, but then Peterborough, Stamford and Burghley House are all very close with pretty countryside and villages all around. I understand there is a movement to rethink and change the National and other events and aspects of the Club and well done those who are taking the initiative, but thank you also to those who arranged this event! In addition to Russ's bad luck I also popped my starter motor on a 500 mile round trip via North Yorkshire, although luckily I was only 1hr from the venue and managed to bump start to reach both the rally and home yesterday!! With regards, Matthew T.

Great to see you on Sunday Matthew and thanks for the hydraulic belt tutorial (New belt ordered from ebay as you suggested).Nice pictures thanks for sharing them.
I had a good time, looking at some great cars there. I think I took at least one photo of each car & when I get a chance I'll put them on Flikr or something similar. Meanwhile, here are a few group shots.

Many thanks for your kind and positive remarks Peter and the photos and also very well done on the prize! I was pleased to chat and help with the belt adjustment and I am glad you have found a replacement, which is always worth carrying in the boot! Hopefully see you at the Chevrons in September. With regards, Matthew T.

Distance, event clashes and the fact that I'd been in the area for the 2CVGB Registers' Weekend the weekend before meant I couldn't make this one. Over 220 miles for me. May be attending the Midlands Rally at Stratford though. Has the major advantage of being very close to a very interesting town but it'd be nice to see more XMs there this year.
