It is part of Leeds Metropolitan Borough, it isn't part of Leeds. It has it's own district council responsible for local amenities.

Normally a county uses the County town as the postcode for the whole county, but as Yorkshire is so large it is divided into metropolitan boroughs, each using the postal town postcode. LS postcode just means that section of Yorkshire uses the LS postcode. Postcodes can even stretch into neighbouring Counties if it suits Royal Mail, as they are assigned on population density. For example, parts of Derbyshire have Sheffield postcodes.

I am sure that people living in Wetherby would not wish their town to be described as part of Leeds!! Regards, Matthew T.

On page six of this thread we see a Peugeot 605 with an unusual suspension strut top arrangement and were unsure what it was for.

Kev's very nice Pug 605...which he then sold and unfortunately was in a very poor state when I last saw it in 2019.
Image

The strut top pipe is a connection between bellows mounted on top of the strut bearing and the engine mounts.
As the body of the car compresses the front springs the engine is raised by the air being forced through the pipe. This means the total oscillating mass is reduced to just that of the car body and occupants, not the engine and drivetrain, thus softer damping can be employed, whilst still controlling the oscillations.

Image

A Peugeot 605 could also be supplied with Hydractive, which switched the dampers between soft and hard mode. Obviously it can't alter the spring rate, as an Xm can.
afaik, 605 with Hydractive don't have the engine stabilisation, ones without do.
