not an XM but.........

Post by Dean » Sun Jun 13, 2010 3:44 pm

Today i have seen 2 silver activa's both MK1 i think, and one dark blue activa, seems to be quite a few over here now, also saw a light gold ish brown colour CX in mint condition, looked like it had come out of the showroom yesterday so a fair bit of work gone into that, then on the way home saw a CX ive not seen over here yet, a red MK1 with chrome wheel trims. He waved so im not sure if the driver is about on the forums and recognised my car or he is just a citroen fanatic, probably the later :D .

That's why we don't see any over here - they have all retired to the IOW.

About 130,000 population and 145 square miles Robert, there is another MK1 Activa over here too with a body kit and other mods which looks really nice, then there are a couple of CX estates, one is in silver and the other one i cant remember but ive not seen them for a while, there used to be a CX GTI too but it was up for sale about 8 years ago and ive not seen it since.
The thing with the island is a lot of peolple retire here so the is a lot of um...older gentlemen with time on their hands, as such going for a drive on a sunny sunday you will see a lot of classic cars, the Goldy brown mint CX for must be used as a daily car because i see it about a lot all over the island during the week.

We were on the island a week ago, and I saw a good looking CX parked at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Properly parked in a layby type area with another car - not broken down. I can't remember where it was now - it may have been near Blackgang. It was red so may well be the same one. Fist CX I have seen in the flesh in years.

Too true! Talking about unique Cx's...

I was out driving my Cx this morning and brightening everyone's day ( 8-) ) and one nice fella
actually stopped me for a chat as I was about to leave a car park. He was quick to say he'd had a
Gs, GSA and Bx in the past as well as a 2.5TD Cx years back and was adamant it was an auto; seeing
as how Citroen never did an auto TD Cx I tried to correct his recollection but he was totally unmoved
from the idea so I guess it was an owner special spec car. :?

I've heard of guys doing the deed but more on the GTi T2 and was always under the impression the
torque of the TD engine hammered the stuffing out of the autobox. Anyhow, that didn't see the car off
- rust did that apparently. He was driving a J plated Lexus - funnily enough the same kinda car the
fella was using whom I bought an Xm from!
