Another 2.5 !

Post by White Exec » Wed Mar 01, 2017 2:35 pm

It can get a bit lonely here, XM-wise, but a good while ago I met up with another 2.5 (a green one), which I discover lives 10km away in Competa, and owned by a retired couple. It gets a fair bit of road use, and makes frequent visits to a small workshop a few km away.

Today, it appeared in my local village car park, outside what was (until a few years ago) a Citroen car workshop, but which now also specialises in rather good bodywork and repainting.

Looking a bit grubby at the moment, she does scrub up ok.
The sun here can take its toll on lacquer - one advantage of flat White.

A '96 VSX in Emerald (I think). SFAIK, they brought it with them from the UK, and re-registered it here.

A week ago, everything here got a 24hr coating of Saharan pink-yellow dust, when strong winds came from due south. For a whole day, the sky went smog-yellow. Still washing it off. Hazards of the Med!

Still thinks that its easier to maintain lacquer than prevent and fight against underbody rust issues ;)

You could be right. Trouble with rust is that it can go about its business unseen, until it's too late. Peeling lacquer is a bit more difficult to ignore.
But you are right, Prem . . . No car ever died from flaky lacquer!
