unfortuantly i never did see an XM

The first one now sorted...
Amsterdam oddity sorted.jpg
Twingi aplenty here too. Shame they were never made in RHD.
The Dutch know how to look after their classics.

Sorry, but as much as I like Citroens, the car in the distance in pic 3, the "and what this is i dont know looked cool though" eclipses them all.

I believe that it is a Tatra 87, like this;

Image

Rear engined, air cooled, 3lt V8. Looks like something out of a Dan Dare comic.

Was it parked up or on the move? Parked up I'd have been all over it.

LG.

PS During my brief period in Amsterdam last year I onlky spotted 1 XM. No CXs but maybe 1/2doz DSs. They like their classic Citroens over there.

They also like these weird little things;

Image

They look as if there is something wrong with the pic, as if it's been squashed, but's that's how narrow they are. It seems as if they are allowed on the cycle tracks over there, (along with, annoyingly, mopeds.)

I love CXs. I also, obviously, have a soft spot for XMs but I am beginning to wonder whether these days, considering the complexity and relatively poor parts availability for XMs, a CX would be an easier prospect for keeping on the road.

Yes it was a Tatra I found out but forgot to post
It was on the move hence the picture from so far away I too would have been all over it just from the looks

What are the chances of spotting a Tatra 87 just driving around? The only one I''ve ever seen was at Silverston at the end of a Norwich Classic Car Run back in the mid 80s. Amazing looking cars.

I did see a 603 heading down the A1 at Scotch Corner a few years ago as I was heading north.

I find the Xantia's an attractive car..Especially the Estate version. They have all but disappeared down here in Australia, not that they were plentiful to start with.

Thanks for posting up the photo's..Interesting..I love the "Twingo's"..Very Cool
