Grey BX valver!

Post by Dean » Mon Dec 14, 2009 9:21 pm

Oh yes, i didnt think there was one on the island but while i was at my local citroen dealer today i saw parked outside a grey BX 16v and it looked absolutly smashing, all original even the crome tipped square backbox with perfect alloys, 'they' say that twin cam unit can put out 200bhp with a new throttle setup and exhaust, that would be a mighty impressive car, even with the 160bhp it was born with its already damn fine, you can keep your 24v XM's i want one of those sooooo bad :D

Id far rather 200bhp from 6 cylinders then 4 cylinders, far smoother, and if you remove the 3 cats on an early 24v (XM) you can gain 15bhp straight away, so im told.. I know my choice.. (Thats without exhaust or throttle bodys etc.. :D

There was a BX Estate followed me into the MOT centre last week, one I have never seen before.

Years ago friend had a BX-16v which I had the pleasure of driving...Yup, it was quick. ;)

It melted a big end at 140 and trashed the crank, so we stuck in a Pug Mi-16 engine producing about 165Bhp. Can this be classed as pre-pay for all the XM turbo's being stripped now..?

This is all true Paul but a BX weighs little over a tonne while the xm has to be 300kg heavier ive had the great pleasure of driving a 16v and it is a nippy little thing to say the least and rather pretty too in a strange way.

Xm wise lots seem to be appearing lately, there is a green MK2 turbo down the road from me, two mk1 2l i's in a garden in east cowes looking very sorry for themselves, a silver mk1 turbo in cowes and a handfull of estates mostly 2.5's and 2.1's then there is a silver mk2 exclusive (i think) turbo i sometimes see at B&Q, which is a fairly popular place to find an xm ive found

I have had 13 BXs including a couple of 16v's: This was the best:

A thrilling drive. But I still prefer the 8v GTi for day-to-day work.
