Re: New member - probably with loads of questions!
Actually this did present a small challenge for one of the Jeeps - I had to use low range 4 wheel drive to get out!

Re: New member - probably with loads of questions!
First drive out today and, well I did promise loads of questions.....
1) driver’s window not working - presumed regulator.
2) opened sunroof to get fresh air. When closing from tilt it only goes down on one side. Easy fix...?
3) the car took over a minute to rise to running position but then seemed to be a bit high. The adjustment lever will not move.
What’s the expert view - too high?
Other than that she drove well so i’ll keep fixing. Any suggestions for parts suppliers and/or suspension experts in West Yorks?

Height control lever: grip and pull upwards about 1cm before moving.

1. Regulator issues aren't common in Series 1 cars, check the operation of the door switch and where the loom passes into the door connector.chriscousins wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 4:58 pmFirst drive out today and, well I did promise loads of questions.....

2. Probably not. Either the roof guide or drive cable is u/s. Almost certainly a sunroof out job to fix.
3. A long time to rise after a prolonged rest, though not normal, isn't uncommon. It's worth checking the suction pipe is tight on both reservoir and pump spigots. Your car looks to be at maximum height, rather than normal ride height.
As said, you need to lift the height selection knob before it can be moved.

Re: New member - probably with loads of questions!
We are assuming he is not lifting the lever for height before moving.. Otherwise siezed pivot under the car where the two rods meet and connect to the height lever.. Get the car up on ramps BE SURE SHE'S SECURE BEFORE GOING UNDER...
You can get at the height lever to the side of the exhaust behind the heat shield. There's a slide C lock clip.. With a lip pull the lip away a bit and slide it off take the rods off and check the pivot..

Re: New member - probably with loads of questions!
I fixed the issues before I sold the car - electric window was a clogged up driver's door switch, suspension was indeed a seized adjustment lever and the sunroof seemed to sort itself out after opening and closing a few times.
