CitroJim's Back!

Post by CitroJim » Wed Aug 10, 2022 6:44 am

Hi all,

Some of you older members may vaguely remember me...

I'm back :D Not, sadly - although I'd love one again, because I have an XM again but because I have a special commission to try and fix a couple of early S1 XM Clarion wirelesses...

I expect I'll need a bit of assistance if that is OK?

I drive very little nowadays due to health reasons and my occasional needs are met with a little Saxo... I do however have a very lovely AX hidden away in my garage that makes occasional visits to rallies and get-togethers...

I'm still very much into running and cycling but currently benched due to a knee injury...

I'll be spending a bit of time now catching up on happenings on here...

Jim

The main failure with these sets appears to be the amplifier transistor.

For any with unknown code just cut all the code chip tracks and it reverts to 1112.

At some stage I intend to hack one so it had digital input into the audio gateway, without the need for the tape player motor to be running.
An external amplifier would be a nice modification.

   No can't have been me then Alasdair as the Saxo and AX are both LHM-free zones ;)

Mind you, I do currently have a nice LHM stain on my driveway ;) :P

Oops 😳 that would be my incontinent Xantia. It is now in solitary confinement in the garage until a green Y connector is sourced. I don't let the XM anywhere near it, as it may be contagious.

Yep, that's the guilty party Mike! No worries as every time I see it it reminds me of a very enjoyable visit :D Shame I could not fin a green Y in my spares...

Seems like an ideal candidate for a spot of 3D printing...

Good to see you on here Peter :D These days I'm more accustomed to seeing you on the Vintage Radio forum!

I've still got a Xantia rear subframe hiding at the bottom of my garden and a few other bits of Xantia bodywork slowly returning to nature!
