Interesting to actually see the damage on one of these early 24v engines and the modifications citroen made.

I have got one of these 24v damaged engines in my shed.. I've robbed the front rocker cover from it for reasons you shall see soon.

The rocker gear on top all looks ok. I've not touched it any further to see the damage for myself yet.. might do one day..

Still happy driving the car: just finished a trip to France Bourgogne driving some 2500 kilometers. Mainly smaller roads, some highway. Trip with 4 persons, passengers were amazed with the comfort, silence and power of the car. After 8hour drive we arrived like having driven for 2hours in a normal car. Tried her to 230km/hr with still more power coming.
Saw only two other XM's in France: a grey and a white one.

Citroen fitted the modified engine from 1992 onwards from factory after the mod was offered for engines already out in the field..
Ive got an older engine with apparently dead valve gear in the shed that one day ill strip down and have a look over it..

Sterling efforts there..
