Thanks for the PM. I'll look out the factory for the car mid-morning for you.

You have a nice early Series 1 v6-12v in onyx paint and no sunroof.
The engine is the PRV6-12v, with 170bhp.
The VIN shows it is build no 204 for that power plant type in the S1 body, so it should be a 1989 car.
Onyx paint is an early colour only.

Apart from the obvious dents the body appears to be in very good condition.
That has potential to be a very nice Xm.

New owner with Series 1.

Think this should be moved to its own topic and not be left inside of stickys topic.. it will never work..

OK, Will - all yours for looking up and posting the full factory spec, which I think what was asked for.

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for the PM.
This is the entirety of vehicle ex-factory Characteristics for the car.
Details for S1/Y3 are thin; S2 can run for several pages.

The RP date of 4734 means the car left the factory on 25 October 1989.

Meaning it's the second oldest xm we currently know of with Mathews lhd polish car being a bit older..

There are a few interesting items on this car:
It's LHD, which French if not all European, spec did without side repeaters, but yours has them and they appear to be the early type, with no black band round the lens edge.

It has silver wheels, which only early models have,
The aerial base is the early type.

For replacement parts, early exterior trims are grey, interior plastics are black. Later cars reversed these colours...albeit the interior trims were hurricane grey. (very dark).

The easiest way to obtain a new rear window is to fit a tailgate. S1 and S2 tailgates are different in that the internal reinforcement for the spoiler mounting differs.

I can see from your pic that it does have steering wheel remote buttons.
I can't see, but it should have rotary heater controls, even if fitted with A/c. I think the rotary knobs suit the dashboard better than the later push-button console.

Not sure where you are, but the paint colour we know as Onyx is also known as Vert Amadine.
