What exactly happens when the key is turned to ignition on?
Is the red light on, or do you have the four digit code and the green light illuminates, or both lights are on.

On reflection, as Paul, I don't think this is an immobiliser problem as the engine runs with petrol poured into the intake. If the immobiliser is active the Ecu shuts down so no power passed is to any device, including the ignition system.
The ignition system is working, so the issue is there is no fuel pump, or injector operation.

Do you have any test equipment, such as a test lamp, multi meter, or just a car bulb and some wires for probes?

Locate the relays on the front of the Ecu box and make note of the wire colours, to know which relay is which.

hello guys,
i am looking for a windshield and the rear back glass.
Risky and costly to send glass round the World.
Ask a local windscreen fitting company to see if they can order them for you.
Car glass is made to generic part number types, so, in theory, should be available.

I left this unanswered as I wasn't sure if it was a boot lid glass or the 13th inner rear glass..

But agree sending quite tricky with risk of breakage..

I obtained a spare XM front windscreen from a car glass supplier/fitter a couple of years back.
They obtained it within a couple of days.
Try one of these for the tailgate glass as well.

The original main key would have contained a remote-locking transmitter, but not any kind of more modern security slug.
XM anti-theft is done by the keypad, if fitted.
What lights does the keypad show when you turn the ignition on?

That's Infra red solely for locking and unlocking the car as we know nothing more. They must be getting. Confused with modern stuff because of the large fob used.. But that was the technology. At the. Time..

S1 early cars didn't have one of. Those. Double relay things. Too old they used conventional square 5 pin relays doubled. Up to trigger 2 or 3 injectors at a time I think 2 at a time but not certain.

S1 cars only use a single standard relay for the injection system.
I suspect either the relay has failed or the pump has failed, but the engine runs for a few seconds, so it looks like the pump is priming at Ign on. It primes for 1 second, then the Ecu switches it on properly when a START signal is seen by the Ecu and there is feedback from the crank sensor.

We can probably assume the Ecu is seeing engine running as it is keeping the ignition circuit live and the spark timing is correct.

Make a Blink code reader to read the cars fault codes.
Buy, or make some basic fault finding equipment. All you really need is a test lamp. A digital multi-meter is useful, but probably not essential.

Please see attached circuit diagrams, details of Blink code reader and codes and images of V6-12v relays marked up.
The injection system relay is the one marked IJ and the wires are Blue.
The others are oxygen sensor (lambda sensor), and Ecu main relay.
You don't need to bother about the A/c relay at the moment.

All wire colours on the circuit diagrams are in French, so Blue is Bleu, Yellow is Jaune, etc.
